about overlook porchfest
Porchfest is a free music festival in which porches, front yards, and local businesses throughout the Overlook neighborhood activate to become stages for bands to play, for people to gather, and for joy, connection to fill the streets in a way that is accessible for all. It is an opportunity to lower the barriers between public and private space.
2024 is the biggest one yet!
This Porchfest will be the biggest one yet! We have over 70 musical acts booked, who will be accompanied by live painters scattered about, as well as members of the Rogue Writer's Guild offering typewriter poetry. We have a host of sponsors to support our musicians - Prosper Portland, Portland Events & Film, Regional Arts & Culture Council, The Old Gold, OKNA, Curbside Serenade, Double Mountain, Gilded Raccoon, Advice Booth, and Bottles & Cans.
JEm Jamz (John Carter & Emily Lichtenberg) set information
JEm Jamz, a collaborative duo between pianist and singer John Carter and violinist Emily Lichtenberg, will play a 1-hour set at 5508 N Detroit Avenue! We look forward to sharing in a mixture of silly and sweet musicality with you.
