Kitty Party

$40.00

The third installment of the ongoing “Beanie Babies Do Drugs” series. This piece features several kitties partaking in a ketamine party.

Ketamine (street name “kitty”) is a dissociative substance (often used as a tranquilizer for horses) which has been gaining popularity as a therapeutic treatment for PTSD, treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and other ailments. The first psychedelic therapy treatment to become FDA-approved, this molecule shows breakthrough data regarding mental health treatment and paves the way for other “psychedelic” therapy modalities such as MDMA and psilocybin therapies.

Accessibility is the next step to focus on for ketamine therapy. Currently, while ketamine therapy is legal and available throughout the United States, it is a very expensive treatment that is not covered by insurance. This barrier makes it difficult for folks of lower socio-economic status to receive ketamine treatment, and often times people who struggle with severe mental illness fall into this category.
