About paired by poetry

Paired by Poetry is an event series hosted by John Carter (@john.a.carter) at the Rose City Book Pub in NE Portland. Local writers & poets are booked to read 20 minutes of their work, while accompanied by improvisational musicians. Poets will select musicians and ask for a ‘feel,’ or ‘style’ that they would like for each piece. The musicians improvise from there, creating a unique and one-of-a-kind experience for each poem!

For Paired by Poetry Vol. 5, I will be performing as a musician, bringing along my triple-drone Cedar flute and my 5-string electric violin to offer.
